KPV
KPV is a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory tripeptide derived from the C-terminus of alpha-MSH, studied for its ability to inhibit NF-κB signaling and modulate inflammatory pathways independent of melanocortin receptors in preclinical research.

Description
What is KPV?KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is a tripeptide corresponding to the C-terminal sequence, positions 11 to 13, of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It was first identified as possessing autonomous anti-inflammatory activity by Hiltz and Lipton in 1989.
KPV retains much of the anti-inflammatory activity of its parent hormone while lacking the pigmentation and appetite effects associated with α-MSH. Research indicates it acts through a receptor-independent mechanism, entering cells directly and inhibiting the NF-κB and IκB kinase pathways that drive pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
In preclinical research, KPV has been investigated for its role in intestinal and immune inflammation, including models of colitis where it is taken up by the PepT1 di/tripeptide transporter expressed in inflamed tissue. Its small size and stability have made it a peptide of interest for gut, skin, and immune research.
Research-grade KPV is sold strictly for laboratory and research purposes only.
