Description
What is IGF-1 LR3?IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is a synthetic, modified analog of human IGF-1 consisting of 83 amino acids. It differs from native IGF-1 through two key modifications: a glutamic acid-to-arginine substitution at position 3 and the addition of 13 amino acids at the N-terminus.
These modifications dramatically reduce IGF-1 LR3’s binding affinity for IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), which normally sequester and inactivate circulating IGF-1. As a result, IGF-1 LR3 has a significantly longer half-life and greater potency compared to native IGF-1.
In preclinical research, IGF-1 LR3 has been studied for its effects on cell proliferation, protein synthesis, and metabolic regulation. It acts through the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) to activate the PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling cascades.
IGF-1 LR3 is not approved by the FDA for any medical use. All products are sold strictly for laboratory and research purposes only.
